Just noting your comments about the taste, or lack of it - I find the flavour is closely linked with the aroma and definitely strongest in a warm medium. Did you not get the flavour in the truffle butter in the potato and leek soup? That is how I enjoy it - or grated over pasta, scrambled egg or omelette. That is how we eat it at home.
